Hotel

For a stay equipped with all comforts in a strategic position between sea and archaeological area

The Villa close to the walls of Paestum recovers a farmhouse from the beginning of the last century. The manor house, the stables, the barns and the manure pile, abandoned for decades, have lost their original function to adapt to current needs. The vast garden surrounding the settlement was once used for cultivation and pasture.

Here our family, dedicated to hospitality since the 1920s, represents the root of our experience, giving us the desire to discover new and original ways. There is a calm air, almost from another era. A fireplace covered in Vietri ceramic acts as a hinge between the hall and the dining room; the light falls softly; a piano from the early years of the last century often brightens up the evenings with its notes. The furnishings are romantic in style, the walls and floors are made in warm colours. From the entrance a staircase descends into a large multifunctional room generally used as a dining room with a pleasant conversation corner to use in the spring and autumn.

The Villa is immersed in a large Mediterranean garden, which offers a suggestive atmosphere that instills well-being and tranquility; here you can relax in the shade of our pine trees and enjoy the scents of nature.

The rooms are equipped with shower and private bathroom, minibar, air conditioning and independent heating, hairdryer and free wifi.

They are arranged on the hall floor (mezzanine) with window, on the first floor with balcony and on the attic floor with balcony; others, however, are located in the garden and have a small porticoed terrace on the front and a window on the back.

There is no lift, you must communicate any walking difficulties at the time of booking to secure a room on the ground floor or hall level.

The structure is ideal for welcoming tourist groups of both adults and children, it is able to offer personalized services and guarantee a comfortable experience for all members. A refreshment room, meeting room, internal and external common areas and free coach parking are available..

Over a hundred years of history

Villa Rita, over a hundred years of history.

In the early 1900s, a thriving farm arose in the heart of the Paestum plain, overlooking the southern walls of the ancient city. It was a small, self-sufficient world with stables, food storage, and even a small mill that marked the rhythm of agricultural life.

The structure prospered for decades until a fire in the early 1950s destroyed the stables. Rebuilt with more modern materials, they continued to serve their purpose, but the fate of the complex was sealed: it slowly began to slide into decay.

By the 1960s, only the main building remained inhabited, the last bastion of a laborious past, before it too was abandoned. The stables, barns, and pigsty, now reduced to ruins, were soon overgrown by spontaneous vegetation, transforming the site into a silent and forgotten place.

It was in the 1970s that the decision was made to breathe new life into the settlement. The main building was renovated and the interior spaces reorganized, transforming it into an intimate hotel. Around it, some of the surviving structures were removed, while others were isolated with hedges and fences. A few years later, the ruins of the old stables were also recovered and converted to welcome visitors. The former manure heap, where manure once matured, was converted into a clear swimming pool.

Today, only a few signs remain of the farm's former function: a drinking trough, solitary stone pillars that seem like silent guardians, the base of a circular building, and a shack lost in a corner of the garden. They are fragile vestiges, but they speak to those who listen, traces of a past that never dies.
